I am looking to start develop games and I am currently in the planning phase however when testing some other games close to what I was to create I see a lot of them use point and click character movement instead of using the arrow keys or wasd.

Is there a reason behind it and if so is it easier for programmers to make it like this or is it easier for the users to control it like this?

Edit: The game I want to develop (and have been looking at) are adventure games/rpg
