A user experience metric that is derived from a set of user interactions over a period of time to indicate the user's perceived interest and involvement. This can be for a product/service or a specific element on a webpage (e.g. survey, widget, game). There is not generally a single measure that can capture user engagement as it requires a specific set of user response/interaction to take place over a meaningful time period, which means it can be highly sensitive to context and the individual involved so many values may need to be measured to derive a quantifiable value.
