We are designing a UI where we need to combine 3 elements

  1. App name
  2. App system trigger (which is common across apps)
  3. Custom triggers(which is undue for ever app)

Since an App system trigger can be the same across multiple apps, what is the best way to represent this data so the user will understand it's the same system. Should it be repeated? (see below)

  1. App_1

    • App system trigger

    • Custom trigger for app_1

    App_2

    • App system trigger

    • Custom trigger for app_2

in this way the app system trigger is duplicated but its easy for the user to find all the info in 1 place for an app

  1. App_1

    • Custom trigger for app_1

    App_2

    • Custom trigger for app_2

    • App System Trigger

here the system trigger is not duplicated on the screen but it some how loses the effect of this information usage with the other data.

Which is the better approach? approach1 approach2

  • Did you mean "unique for every app" at the end of the first sentence? And is "common across an apps" actually "all apps"? – Andrew Leach Apr 13 '15 at 9:38
  • Can you add a screenshot or an example of what the elements are? App name, app system trigger and custom triggers tells us nothing about whether these are labels or controls, and what they are used for. – tohster Apr 13 '15 at 15:38
