Jul 29, 2015 at 12:56 | comment | added | Marc Stober | In a course with UX author Bruce Tognazzini he presented a hierarchy of loading indicators, e.g., less than half a second do nothing, half to a few seconds can be a spinner, more than a few seconds a progress bar, even longer something more informative/entertaining. If it's a JavaScript/web application at least it's pretty simple to have a progress animation appear after a 500ms timeout if the process hasn't completed sooner. | |
