What will be a good UI design for the iPhone app wise notification popups are annoying - users will not like that - and that's also the reason for the new iOS notifications area, why can't you use that? |

Is there an established way of representing Single Sign On with an icon? I guess the icon would match whichever technology for the single-sign-on you are actually using... |

What errors should users never experience? @BobbyJack it goes without saying that meaningful messages help the users a lot more than cryptic technical errors - but again, in an ideal implementation, you'd do everything you can to make sure the document gets correctly saved before (as last resort) throwing some error to the user (what exactly do you expect him to do about it? - the best practice is to notify "something has happened and ours admins have been made aware") |

What errors should users never experience? @BenBrocka - there are ways to avoid the user ever knowing one of the backend/frontend websites went down - did you ever had problems reaching google or facebook? |

What errors should users never experience? @HenrikEkblom - in an ideal world you would queue the task and make it happen whenever the system is ready |

What errors should users never experience? none ever, manage your errors internally and avoid the user from any technical mambojambo - e.g. even if the "login information is not correct", that's not an error but rather a "revisit your inputs demand" ;) |

Why are most social networking sites in blue? sorry but where is the "scientific research" in your answer? As much as I'd like that view from my window (or rather swim in it :), it doesn't really answer the OP's question |

Why are most social networking sites in blue? Funny how nothing from that seems to be mentioned in the link below - and I can see why - color contrast and readability are not such big issues anymore (with nowadays high-quality monitors), and color-blindness affects only about 8.5% of the population - and btw BLUE is the worst color for color-blinds - so I doubt that's the reason... ;-) |

Why are most social networking sites in blue? yes, color is one of the most important factors when designing an interface, as it conveyes the overall "mood feeling" of the design. Can't find any references now, I'll have to dig up more "scientific research", but I hope my link above is already helping in that direction |

What should be maximum and minimum length of persons User Name & Password? yes well Korea is in Asia, at least in my world map ;-) and as you also have shown, 2 characters is the "shortest" name... If this answers your question, please mark as Answer for the other members... Thanks |

What should be maximum and minimum length of persons User Name & Password? I guess the min length for a username should be at least 2 characters (thinking of Asian names here), unless it's an email (in that case min email length is 5 chars). Regarding passwords, there are tons of different opinions - like the length is not all but also what's included like special chars and numbers - that is purely your own requirement and decision... Hope this helps |
