Is the concept of versions out of date? You can diferentiate builds with versions, they are from the same family, but each one is different, hence they are like names. If you strip them from the UI , nothing bad happens, but other problems might appear later. |

How to improve discoverability of transient scrollbar? This kind of thing is just horrible for accesibility in general. Guessing interfaces are just bad. A tooltip would be my suggestion but it's just too obvious to make a full answer. |

Is the concept of versions out of date? @DA01 :When function is the only important thing, people tend to strip everything else, and sometimes not understanding what you remove is just an excercise of power. |

Is the concept of versions out of date? I forgot to add the licensing factor, freeware don't need a version at all, like for example Chrome, but paid software does, to know exactly what you have and what you'll get. Of course, one thing is "Office XP" or "Office 2003", and another thing is Microsoft Office Word v15.2.45.2 . Do you mean the later? |

How to design user friendly aliases for command line interface element identifiers? Yes, initially i thought about indexing the results of the query as they appear onscreen, and then store every identifier with a matching list number. The users will have multiple terminals, so thats another problem, as you suggest. |

How to design user friendly aliases for command line interface element identifiers? I agree with Rahul, but asking users to name everything they make would make sense? |
