Been working in IT since 1998, graduated University in 2003 and in 4 short years gone from Junior Dev to Head of Application Services. I've got a keen interest in all things web (.Net, CSS, xHTML, AJAX, ECMAScript) and do my best to keep on top of things.

comment Why don't ATMs show blank arrows for unused buttons?
What happens when miscreants damage the screen as sewms to be the case in the uk a lot of the time. At least with physical buttons its a bit easier to make vandal resistant.

comment Headlight and Indicators on the handlebar OR on the front panel of the Scooter that you drive?
No but the headlamp does, so if the lamp is onthe handlebar you need thicker gauge wire and ensure that the thicker wire doesnt rub.

comment Deleting object when a related item is in use
This gives me different methods of handling the delete, thanks. I'll have to check which one will be most easily validated for GXP but at least I know which applies now.

comment The right wording for “close”
Dismiss to me feels like it means "close without taking an action" whereas "close" is "close and perform the usual close action such as save"

comment Your download will start in X seconds
Its not all about advertising, some of it is to do with popup blockers too. In the case of microsoft, the "your download should start" page is normally filled with instructions should something go wrong, like a pop up blocker blocking the download. The direct link allows you to overcome this without changing your settings.
