@TheCloudlessSky "the list is paged". Oh, I guess that's why you're not just doing the incremental search right on the displayed list. But why opening a dialog for that?

In Android's API it's called just overscroll. @BaGi: I made an image scroller that makes the phone vibrate when you reach the bounds. If anyone wants to try it‌​... The only thing is that I couldn't get the vibration to be proportional to the force (phone limits). That would be great.

...I think I got the point, yet I still find hard calling that a mode. I guess I could look for other examples of modal things that have no apparent "switches", in order to have a broader idea of modes.
