comment How to extract more insightful UX requirements from User
+1 this is the same thing we learn in game design: users are excellent at finding problems, but terrible at suggesting specific solutions

comment How can wiring systems be designed to not rely solely on colour?
@smpl I understand. As an app (game) developer, I can't ask every single person to test that my game looks okay. The best I can hope for is a few people under some sort of broad categories. Thanks.

Can you clarify what your specific brand of colour-blindness is called? I haven't heard of it before.

@JonW red-green blindness won't prevent you from seeing red. What does red signify in Chinese that's in opposition to "danger"?

Agreed that it's related, but not a dupe. I'm looking for an alternative, and the linked question just talks about the idiom.

Also, to clarify again, this is for the options screen -- some users only want to see a subset of the entire language alphabet. So it's not really counter-intuitive. When teaching kids a foreign alphabet, it's easier to start a few letters at a time.

I really like how you avoided the notch problem, I didn't realize that before. Arabic has 28 letters, so it's pretty hard to squeeze. I will probably combine this with @RogerAttril's solution for general navigation.

+1 nice, I actually like this solution a lot. I may combine this with @JonW's idea, since he's right that slider notches, etc. are tricky.
