How can I improve the display of fonts when no anti-aliasing is used? @Rahul I'm 'Mandy' in the comments :). The link I posted there does a better job detailing everything, but at the end of the day the right solution is more situational than best practice. The typeface, the size, the colors and whether it triggers hardware acceleration or not all affect readability, so it really just depends on cross-browser testing. I'm also not sure how he countered the rest of what I said, since the entire article was about subpixel- vs. antialiased. |

Is the color red really appropriate for form validation errors? Why wouldn't the stop light analogy work here? This is all UX. These are design patterns we've adhered to for years intentionally. |

Better Term for “Web Design and Development” Company Sorry for the late response! That's a great question, and I'm not sure I know the right answer, but I don't think either is necessarily right or wrong. It might make more sense for the time being to stick to the singular form until you have two physical locations, though. |

Better Term for “Web Design and Development” Company Also, as you suggested in another comment, "studio" is not at all Web 2.0; the very definition of it is a place where creatives work (e.g. film studios that have been around for nearly a century). It's perfectly acceptable to use Studio here (SikuSiku Studios actually rolls off the tongue quite nicely) and across the gamut of all creative work. All of these 'marketing guru' terms are so ambiguous that it really won't matter. However, "Solutions" specifically means answers -- in this case it'd mean a full-service/one-stop shop -- and that is not what the OP's company does. |

Better Term for “Web Design and Development” Company I don't think I understand your comment, Aaron. Do you think someone will see "interactive" and not bother to research the company? Will that word always be plagued? I'd assume any client worth having would be choosing to contact you on the basis of your existing website/portfolio and what the bullet points on your Services page says. So long as you list all of your competencies, I don't think the confusion is going to happen. If potential client X calls and asks, it takes a minute to say "Sorry, no, but we've worked with Company Y before for that kind of work; here is their information." |

+ Sometimes sites change within a week or a few months, which is why the scope of this project is shifting to grabbing a literal live cross-section or full page without all of the individual files. I'm totally crossing my fingers and my toes that this is even remotely capable at this point in time.
Thanks for responding! |

Are there any UI pattern sites with a bookmarklet / selective screen capture (think Skitch) tool? How was I oblivious to Zootool? It has the process down, but the experience is still a little wonky. My concern is that a screenshot only shows so much, and additionally, linking to the site's original URL to show the actual effect goes out of date really fast. |

Are there any UI pattern sites with a bookmarklet / selective screen capture (think Skitch) tool? I was going to add in my comment that I would /love/ to design one if someone has the developer prowess. A friend suggested something like html2canvas.hertzen.com but unfortunately it takes forever to render, doesn't always do it right, and doesn't include any of the interaction states. |
