For the love of god, please do not interfere with common user behavior patterns.

comment Is there any difference in element minimal sizes on 10 and 24 inch touch screens?
@JonW Objection! I feel (though wikipedia says otherwise) like Fitt's Law is pretty ill-suited for pure "click" gestures — as opposed to dragging – on touch devices. What would Fitt's b be, for instance? Also, a hand/finger, unlike a mouse pointer, usually isn't being moved in a line that intersects the target.

Are you positive the checkboxes are not meant for warhead target selection? :p

comment can user-generated tags help organise a site's IA?
I work in E-Commerce. On roundabout 500 shops of clients of ours, not a single user has ever tagged a product.

comment How can I use gamification to encourage people to complete mundane but required tasks?
@Jay Make the stakeholders take a couple of courses. That often helps.

comment How can I use gamification to encourage people to complete mundane but required tasks?
@Jay I figured that. For some reason, whenever any type of online course or survey software is needed, a programmer is tasked with absolutely everything from concept and design down to nitty-gritty SQL stuff. Being a programmer, he obviously cares (and knows) a lot more about his DB structure than about UI or UX (I won't even mention didactics).

comment How should I toggle navigation for 2 distinct user types
And please, please, please, don't make me choose my preference over and over again every single time I re-visit your site (while providing some kind of mechanism to switch over if i really really want to)!
