2011/09/28: Working at my 2nd software-development job full time and working on my 1st web-site and spending time with my wife an baby girl in my free time. I look forward to the day where my "full time" becomes my "free time".

Can higher speeds harm the user experience? @KeithS: Precisely, so I'm curious to hear the side of those who down-voted. Could it be they don't like Pacman or (shudder) Superman?!!?? No No, of course not, that's crazy-talk! There's got to be some other reasonable explanation that I'm missing... ;) |

Why do Microwave oven UIs fail? @BryanOakley: That's true, although I'm not sure about it taking up the same amount of space since you'd still need the ability to select which cooking mode you are using. Maybe instead of a single "Start" button you could put your "Cook By" "Time"/"Desired Temp" buttons there. |

Why do Microwave oven UIs fail? @derobert: Did the microwave shut off when it got to the temperature you wanted to cook your food to? If so: SWEET, I want it! |

Why are progress bars horizontal? Here's a challenge from Ben Brocka's linked article: Implement the "Pormpuraawan Progress Bar", where progress goes from East to West :) |

Why put the controls in the bottom (or the top) of a music player UI? @yusf: I don't have an Android device, but I did search for "Android music player" on Google images, and through at least the first 50 images, every result that had play/ff/rew buttons had them below the viewing area, so I apologize but I'm not sure what you are referencing. |

Is this rotating cube interface user-friendly? @Peter: Does this work on mobile devices? Real-estate is so valuable there and this saves so much space, I can just think of one word for your design: money. While we are on that note, you could save even more space and show any number of sides if you swapped them out randomly when the sides are hidden! |
