It'll be in a museum, from what I understand two in a wide open room with lots of art all around. I do love the QR code approach but I'm not sure it's familiar enough yet with the elderly. I'm just the developer but I'm thinking of suggesting to the UX guys something like: " Send my image to [ john@aol.com ] [ Send ] or Scan this QR code [ ]"

comment How do people react to voice commands in AI?
The environmental barrier is my biggest issue personally. If I'm somewhere that's too loud it's useless. If I'm somewhere that's too quiet it's a disturbance. Even if I'm just hanging out with friends or my girlfriend I don't use it: They don't need to hear what I'm doing and I doubt they care. The only time I'm comfortable using it is when I'm alone.

comment Usability of an email field without label “email”
You're right. It should ask for an email directly. I was more talking about the design of it, not really the wording. I wasn't clear enough. =)

A label is definitely required, but I believe the visibility of the label is more his question. As long as he has one and it's "linked" up appropriately using for and id attributes this design works fine.
