I have frequently been asked in team bulding exercises to introduce myself in various ways. One of my favorite ways is:

Q. What is your name and if you could be any animal which one would it be and why?

A: Ali Muzaffar & Bear, without a doubt. It's a toss up between a Grizzly, or Kodiak bear.

My reasons are:

They are smart.

They are strong.

They look slow and sluggish but they aren't (their top speed is about 30KM/Hour).

They look like a big cuddly push over but are deadly.

They are mostly solitary (aren't most software developers).

They gain and lose a lot of weight every year.

They are one of the most adaptable species in the world.

Well, I was talking more about on-site SEO, the advice regarding page layout, the tags that content should be in (I know that matters little since you can style it any way you want) the advice that you should have a certain page size, and that all your content should be clear within X words on the page and menu structure should be in a certain way on your website. Basically what is called on-site seo.

Yeah, normally I don't think about it, however today it just occured to me that if people aren't worried about pictures on websites not rendering in the color they want then why do they care about borders, font colors and background fills. However still, when something has to be styled using a style sheet, we are told to stick with web-safe colors. It beats me as to why.

Have you seen Google+ circles interface (putting your contacts into circles)? Something like that would be great!

comment What is the ideal height of a button in regular desktop applications?
I would recommend that any size is fine as long as the text is readable and as long as it can be clicked without any issues. To this end, I would say use relative font-size's (percentages or em). Also, make sure to use a verb on your buttons instead of just Yes or OK be more specific 'Yes, Format my Hard drive', 'Yes, send the email' etc.
