comment A good way to display tables with sub-headlines
I'd put the HTML / XML columns to the left of the headings / labels so that they are nearer and it's easier to tell which row they are on.

comment Keyboard support for dropdown widget
See my question: Patterns for keyboard accessible drop down lists tl;dr: There is no standard. The latest versions of office open the drop down when pressing Up/Down Arrow. IE and Firefox open the drop down when pressing Alt+Up/Down Arrow and Safari opens them when pressing the Spacebar.

comment New design pattern for tagging documents?
When a user selects a word or phrase you could show a tag button above the selection. That would be quicker to use and disrupt the reading flow less.

AHA! Pressing Alt+Up or Alt+Down works in Firefox and IE for web pages and settings dialogs, but not in Chrome.
