What's the best way to handle deleted user accounts on a social app? Definately mark as Deleted User - especially in a discussion forum, so that other know they will not get any more responses. And markign the user like this should be straightforward coding wise - no thread searching required. |

Preventing impossible clicks That is one of the occasions when it is OK. It is probably better to manage the links - remove the link while keeping the text - but it is acceptable because we partly expect this. |

Common pattern for “multiple fields, at least one required” This style would be my preferred approach. the asterix ( which is a known indicator ) then is seen to relate to the whole group. Grouping is often a good idea. |

Repository of Common Refrences As a rule, someone has normally written the original specification, or the critical book on the topic, either of which would serve. I can't help specifically, having never heard of this! But common citations I would doubt - most research has its own distinct requirements. |

How important is feedback? I think the point is that the user shouldn't have to wait more than a few hours. Feedback is not just about technical solutions, but about peoples involvement as well. It is always dangerous to assume that there is a technical solution. |

How to display a distinction between actions which affect the 'real world' vs. actions that affect only the information in the application? The buttons to save are where the action happens. Similarly, the styling of the text boxes can be amended subtly in the same way, to highlight the significance of these. |
