Generally, it is a nice idea to explain why you are downvoting.

+1 for the list of idea = very good. But -1 for tabbed forms. If the whole set of data needs to be filled in, then make it clear exactly how much data needs to be completed. Tabbed forms - and even progressive reveal forms - suggest that there might be a lot more to enter that there is. IMO

comment How can I defend and/or encourage white space as an effective design element?
Google have defended their white space vigorously. They have not done badly with it.

comment With 'OK' button, 'Cancel' should appear as secondary button or link?
I assumed your "secondary button" would be looking slightly different, and so would be the only thing that looked like that on the site. THis would mean it is a new style, needing new cognitive work to understnad what it means.

comment The use of tabs
I have marked Rogers answer as the accepted one, because I think it covers the majority of the issues. However, I am sure there is more discussion worth having on this.

Definately no - you should only be showing YOUR work, not anything/any information that you have been provided with to do your work.

comment What is a better term for “un-pause”
Yes that might work - Resume is a better word, and Suspend goes with it. The purpose is to find the words that reflect the process. If you find that, you will find your pair.
