How much should a UX professional know about front-end development? Phil - UX is a strategy, and while on it's own it can be valuable, I believe it needs to be paired with another tacit skill. This is because a designer must be able to communicate their work to a team, and without something to demonstrate work (sketching, visual design, etc.) you can quickly fall victim to the product-limiting "idea guy" role. |
