How to map dependent attributes into a table? So are you asking how best to allow input a pair of required data, how best to display rows of these data pairs in an editable fashion, or both? |

Enter to submit comments on Facebook and StackExchange The entire set of standards like Shift+Enter for a carriage return rely on being learned by word of mouth. I try not to rely on people's knowledge of them. If I have to use them, I like to drop a note or instruction into the UI. |

How can I deal with diverse gender identities in user profiles? You can use this system on the back-end and map it to a more human presentation on the front-end. It turns out it maps perfectly to dhmholley's answer of Female, Male, Other, and Prefer Not to Say. |

Android List Layout Are you asking about the technical implementation or the best kind of user experience? If you're looking for open-source code to re-use or something like that you'll want a different forum. |

How can I show marking state (for individual data values) in aggregate representations? Well, I might argue that you'd want another label, Important (2), that indicates the total number of messages marked as important, despite which other labels they're attached to. In that case it seems what's important to the user is, how many "important" messages do I have? |

Confusion with private messaging system I'm a little late responding to this... but in the Trash you can just show the subject (and whether or not there are any attachments) and that should be enough. In my opinion. MS Outlook works that way. If you want to show sender or recipient, show sender; you delete stuff from other people more often than you delete stuff from yourself. |

Recommended time to show an interstitial before it closes itself? I assume whether or not the interstitial should time out at all isn't something to be considered? For example, if the message is "you are leaving xyz.com" then you may want to wait until the user gives the manual OK, especially if secure data is being transferred. |

Is there a scale to measure ones proficiency in software? Ah, well when you put it that way... Very true. |

Should my gutter/margins expand in a fluid design? When you say "Fluid 2," are you referring to this layout? pixelunion.net/themes/fluid2 |

Best resources to make great reusable UI elements (icons/buttons/etc)? I asked Jonathan Smith, an actual designer at my company, to post his thoughts. He's now posted an answer. |

What should flagging do? Don't immediately hide the post from the flagging user too well; rather, make sure they have the opportunity to un-flag if they want. |
