Follow the audit trail. You've been given information, so try to trace it to its roots for the evidence that supports the idea. Not saying there is or isn't anything in it, just proposing that a review of the evidence may help determine it's relevance to your particular scenario.

comment Context menus in table
Does it have to work for touch screen devices? For example I was thinking you could you have a button area appear next to a row as you hover over a row, but that's a big no-no for touch screens.

comment Rotating arrow vs plus/minus sign for a dropdown in Android
If you're going to be 'sending messages' from items in the list I would make that call to action clear in it's own right, but not confuse it with the action of expanding an item in the list. They are two entirely different intents.

revised “Do Not Disturb” tags in hotels, how can they be improved?
I like that the tags include the tag 'tags', but have added the tag 'physical' even though it's not a physical tag.

comment Visually show “Content cannot be dropped here”
Yes, that was more or less the answer I was looking for: i.e. when you have valid and invalid drop regions, you should not leave it to the user to 'test' each region to see whether it can be dropped on, but be proactive in identifying for the user those ones which can be dropped on. It doesn't have to be a bright colour - just enough to distinguish the valid ones. There may be no need to separately identify the invalid ones - it might be visually better to leave those unchanged so that all the emphasis and transitions are about the valid ones rather than valid and invalid.
