Best practice for translating context menu options to touch devices? Copy comes up after a tap and hold, multi-select is enabled after you click the 'external actions' button in the upper right (shown in Figure 3, open in Figure 4). |

Table of Data in Windows 8 Store App FWIW we've implemented almost this exact layout (including grouping data by time periods) before using the method that @BenjaminMalley describes in his 1st example. It has tested very well. |

Visual differentiation between in-site links to outbound links the arrow you've mentioned is what I see used most commonly in situations like this. |

Do people really want to look at multiple windows at once? @Izkata A valid, but blanket result. Detail to that end would be appreciated since he makes it sound like multitasking on Windows 8 isn't possible. |

Do people really want to look at multiple windows at once? I think Nielsen is a bit overzealous to be honest. He does mention snap view, but none of his test users could get it to work? Really? This seems to be then leading the assumption here on this question and answers that since no one could get it to work, that multitasking is dead on Win 8 which is not the case. More difficult? Arguably yes. |

Inputting percentages - in decimal or whole number form? Good thoughts for sure, however I'm looking more for existing guidelines and research if at all possible. If there's none to be found, then it looks like we've got some of a start here :). |

Is there any research on the color schemes which work with different genders The problem I've found whenever trying to research aspects of color psychology is dredging up the actual research on the interwebs. Whenever you think you've found something, there isn't a source credited or any credible reference to be found. With that said, here's all I could gather. At the very least it's an interesting read about Pink vs. Blue: brainpickings.org/index.php/2009/12/11/pink-and-blue-project |
