Is it a good idea to enforce a minimum comment length? Why not let people comment how they like and have a way for the reader to filter comments that are simply words of appreciation. This is harder to implement but will not significantly alter the way members of the community interact with the each other and the community. Oh an another filter category could be 'see my photos' for all all the posts that are just for self publicizing. |

User Experience Research on Users Total Digital Environment? I do not know of any research done looking at how people use one or more applications across devices in their everyday life but I do know that Nokia used to (and probably still does) a lot of user research about how people use cellphones in general. Now of course tablet usages has also been studied. Definitely look at work done by Jan Chipchase. Also have a look at work done by Rachel Hinman (she also has a book: Mobile frontier). Great question. Thanks for making us all think about this. Caveat: Most of the work in this area is location, culture, and time specific & things change rapidly. |

Metro UI breadcrumb guidelines / examples? I am familiar with the three level hierarchy guideline but my application is not going to fit in three levels. Also the three level guideline does not have breadcrumbs. |

Positioning Back, Cancel and Next in a full screen wizard Thanks for the solution Jung, I have read Luke W's article. And yes the two secondary actions confused me a little. |

Should aspects such as page render time or time taken to retrieve results be considered part of UX? + 1 I agree because as UX designers we have had to design interfaces that take into account more than usual delays in page load and ensure that the UI doesn't look frozen and is still usable. |
