A man with far too many questions trying to work out how the world works.

My primary interests are in UX and education as a whole - specifically in finding ways of improving or remaking the education system so that it is still appropriate to the world we will live in at the time that students graduate.

@TimWolla I should have stated it more clearly. I mean the situation where all the names are aligned to a left margin and all the messages start in the same position. I'll edit my answer to make this clearer.

@JeffO The structure of QnA sites makes them a poor format for discussion in much the same way that discussion forums are a poor format for QnA. The only part of the site that suits discussion is the chatroom, where we often have discussions on an amazing array of topics.

@JeffO This is not a platform for discussion as discussions don't fit well into a QnA format. However, if you have a specific question about where the icons should be, that can be asked in a way that fits this format.

comment Should 'ABC' keyboard layout be used in single-purpose devices?
@KoenLageveen I would argue that being shown a keyboard with keys in an order that you know (assuming you know what alphabetical order is) is better than showing someone a keyboard in an order that they don't know. I suspect that is why the ABC keyboard is used, but I have no data to back this up.

Having seen a qwerty layout doesn't mean that someone will be comfortable using it. Many people use improved layouts or country specific ones.
