I'm a software developer currently specializing in Java (previously Perl and PHP). Most of my applications employ Struts2 and JPA/Hibernate. I love Tomcat, but I usually have to deal with Weblogic. ;)

This is fine on older browsers too, as they will just fall back to a standard text input type.

Sorry, I said several when I meant a few. I've clarified. I believe there are ~ 195 countries. The question is oriented more toward drop downs in general, though. Countries was just the current example.
