comment Combining rotation and straightening of images
@DA01 - Not necessarily for different reasons. I think people might prefer one way of doing it over the other. Or am I missing something? I thought of a level as an icon as well. I'll have a look at how LR's looks (:

Interesting idea. I researched different conventions regarding this, and it seems Ctrl is usually used for increments of rotation (of e.g. 15°), although I've seen Shift used as well.

And how does this translate into cm, mm etc.? Referring to @jensgram 's answer here.

comment To scroll down or to use thumbnails, that's the question…while building a web portfolio interface.
How about this: Thumbnails at the top, which are links to "fuller" content further down the page (fragment identifiers)

comment What are common UI misconceptions and annoyances?
+1 so. hard. The same is true for pretty much everything. This is why splashscreens/intropages for websites fail. And long introtexts. If only people would get it into their heads

comment When is the appropriate time to use the “i” icon in an app?
Agreed. "i" for "information", gear-icon for settings.

comment Scrollbar on the left
@Henry Flower - I'd choose the right one because that's the one I use the most (if I want to use one of them, it will be the one I am best with). Secondly: Mostly, text reads left to right, so I will have a smaller chance of obscuring that if I have my hand/cursor on the other side.

comment Interesting user interfaces from sci-fi movies & tv?
I think it was Jakob Nielsen who remarked how ridiculous this is. Users' arms will tire fast.

comment Why is that facebook, twitter and grooveshark have 40px height in their nav bar?
Seems to me that JoJo might have meant something along the lines of "I can 't remember, but it was either because it's a multiple of 5, or of 10"

comment Multiple command inputs - negative sides?
I think Vitaly has understood my question. My example would be making text bold in the four different ways mentioned. The examples I was hoping for from here were examples of software that use this, where it doesn't work well. Hope this answers your questions.
