Can you post a mock of your interface?

comment How best to show the 'weight' (importance) of bullet-ed items in a non-intrusive (creative) way?
Ok I didn't understood it like that. The way I saw it the only thing it was shown was a title/keyword just like tags.

comment Should I provide template functionality?
What about create templates from an existing sheet? that way you wouldn't destroy the user flow. The user could make several sheets from scratch before it realizes he has a pattern and decide to template it.

comment Should user registration be tabbed or part of a multi-step form?
@Alexander also consider allowing your users to register with openID. I've been on sites that I haven't registered for because they didn't allow me to register with openID.

comment What is the best way to ask for a specific amount?
I don't think it's easy to achieve a very precise selection @André but the inclusion of the TextField inside the knob (you can try it in the link I provided) allows the user to achieve a precise selection using the TextField or a general selection based on the perception of the percentage of the value (I want to give roughly 30% of my cookies)

comment How important is it to consider color for color blindness in a design
Just wanted to give a link to a project developed in Portugal. It's called ColorADD and it aims to be a standard on how to present color to color blind people. It's being use in coloured pencils (in portuguese), subways and hospitals, for example). Anyway it may be useful for someone. I'm not affiliated with the project in any way.

comment How to convey the notion of urgency and impact via symbols and/or ux
I like the idea of using catch phrases. But I have a small area for the form and I'll give priority to some form of symbolic representation. As a last resort I'll use some comboboxs with catch phrases.

I just realized that the b&w approach can lead the user to think the button is disabled..

Thanks for you suggestion. I liked the b&w approach a lot. In this case the filter will only filter the tree on the left so the highlight suggestion is of no use here.

Thanks, I liked the tick option. The crossed circle may tell the user he cannot filter, may give a message of forbidden action.

We have space constraint on the interface so we went with this solution. The button is in the application toolstrip bar so showing all the filters without the drop down isn't really an option. I liked the exclamation mark though!
