Thanks. Just an FYI, my last example was from Apple's Apple Store app where you buy physical things vs. their App Store app where you buy apps.

As far as #1 goes, an app still needs to be localized for VoiceOver users. You could be on to something with #2 since the user's content in Safari is more important than their content in a shipping form.

@DominikOslizlo I think you are thinking of this screen without the keyboard. zurb.com/blog/system/images/904/original/blog-4.jpg?1371059571 Notice the slightly different spacing between the arrows in this pic and the one with the keyboard.

Or does this really matter? Am I bikeshedding here?

Thanks. Thats a great book, one of the first I read about interfaces. I am also looking for maybe a website where I can browse lots of examples.

comment Is there ever a good use case for a software rotary knob (dial)?
And I find this trend disturbing. :) I have muscle memory with a knob. I can turn a dial on the oven to 450 degrees F without looking at it while a digital control requires my complete attention and takes more time.

comment Does Apple recommend a minimum table view height?
While not exactly what I'm looking for it is interesting that in landscape with a nav bar and tab bar the height of the table view is 219pt. Which seems similar to the height of the table view on find my finds. (All on 3.5 inch iOS device) titaniumtips.com/files/iphone_dimensions_landscape.php

I edited my question. If I was trying to fit in the most text without truncation would asking about minimum font be asking 'how bad should I make it'?

But I'm assuming the standard iOS cell height of 44pt. It might be ambiguous when it comes to the web with so many devices and proportions that the devices display but not with an iPhone app. 44pt translates directly into a measurable size, say 1cm on all non-iPad iOS devices.

I could definitely foresee usability issues. For example, if your table view is exactly the height of one cell then the user doesn't have an affordance to see that there is more information that should be accessible. What I'm really looking for is the minimum height necessary that allows easy scrolling where the limiting factor is the human finger.

My question is in reference to the whole table not the cell height. I updated my question to make it a little more clear.
