It's one of the more interesting posts I've seen on SE lately, so thank you and every one else!

comment What are arguments against the usage of a ticker / marquee on websites?
In the UK ticker is more likely to mean a counter (such as the view counter on the top right of this page). We don't really have a widespread name for it, but if anything, marquee is much more understandable. If it were my question, I'd alter it to ...usage of a ticker / marquee..? to capture a wider external audience in the long term. Additionally, the keyword marquee is only used once without much surrounding context.

comment How to determine the oldest browser version to support before you have users
Personally, I'd build for IE9+, tweak for IE8 by loading hacks with conditional comments, and only retrofit with even more hacks for IE6 & 7 if absolutely necessary. You'd almost never build for IE6 or 7, you just have to factor additional time for hacking it into shape if necessary.

comment Does a normal business really want me to call them, if they're only providing a premium rate phone number?
@keshlam one which costs more than the standard rate to call it, or because of its prefix, it isn't covered by a normal phone contract.

comment What should happen to dynamic height input element?
@Taylor You'd be surprised then at how little confidence some of the much older generation has when it comes to using the internet. You should consider it unless they're not part of your target audience.

comment In a full screen mobile game where all corners are taken, where should I put a menu button?
I'm fairly certain Google doesn't have final say on what hardware an android phone contains. They provide the software, and maybe some input on hardware, but they don't make the phones.

comment Multiple sites on the same domain – Good or bad?
I think 'targeted against' means something very different from 'targeted at'.
