comment What are the benefits of the new Marks and Spencer large image fade?
One drawback I noticed is that the menus and functionality of the site are unavailable whilst I wait for them to load. Good question; I look forward to the answers.

comment Implementing account lock out on a website
I agree with the slower and slower response for failed attempts from the same client (IP), but that can lead to issues for people sharing a proxy. Introducing Captcha after a few failures could alleviate that.

+1 for your consideration of your customer experience. So many companies would do this without must (any?) thought as to the customer experience.

Thanks Matt; I had the devil's own job trying to find that information. +1 added for the link to the explanation. :)

Where is the rank @Mervin? I'm asking a direct question, and I highlighted a few of the most prominent changes in the design. I have not, AFAIK, indicated my opinion on those changes.

The "layers" point is very important to me as a customer. With each layer I feel I'm getting more for my money. I would add that the box should be reasonably robust, yet easy to open. Those hard plastic wrapped things that cut you when you open them make me hate the product before I've got my hands on it. I personally find paper, cardboard and that recycled brown colour very "comforting" when I open the box.

Then I would prefer the second option, where both individuals need to authenticate during the registration process.

Could you allow people who want to participate in team events to register for them without knowing who they'd be working with? You might then allow individuals to registr for a team event, and let them see a list of team events that are not yet full.

Sadly no, just personal experience developing a call centre web application.

Your back end operators are your consumers; you can apply many of the same techniques to make a good interface for them. In particular, look for the things they do most, and make sure almost everything can be done from the keyboard. Back office workers love the efficiency of keyboard input.
