comment Home page content for a data aggregator website?
Yep i see – i guess that would boil down my answer to the 'local search' and 'locally relevant' suggestions…

comment Selecting many licenses for many users
I would be great if you could improve your question by adding some details about your use case: What context are you dealing with? Who is using your system? Can you show us some wireframes? etc. Also I fear that "I need some inputs" is very broad which could lead to few / low quality answers. Try to be as specific as possible about your scenario and about what you actually want to know.

comment Incorporating fun into systems design
(moved from answer) Sorry, but I find the question too broad / mostly opinion based since it can vary greatly, what people perceive as 'fun'. The most simple examples would probably be 'games' – but even that field is so broad that you just can't generalise what 'fun' would mean in what context.

comment How to convey that an indicator is clickable
Welcome to stackexchange. When asking a question please try to be as specific in your question as possible. Try describing what you want to know – also using screenshots or wireframes is ok – but please avoid forcing others to ckick on a link to understand your question – especially if it links to a store page. Questions like "How can I do this?" or "Please review my interface" are usually not very likely to get a lot of attention from the community.

comment Should I add more colors?
Your question appear to me mostly opinion based – it sounds a bit like "Do you like my design?". Please try to be a bit more specific and ask about some aspect you really want to know.

comment Why would some high profile blog not allow commenting?
I was refering to blogs commenting on blogs –– or actually people writing blog posts (on their own blogs) about other people's blog posts. Lot's of people have their own blog and instead of writhing a comment on the very article page, everybody is free to write a comment on whatever platform one prefers. And those backlinks that may be found on such 'refering' / 'commenting' blog posts can be more valuable concerning seo than on-site comments.

comment UX to consider on a business card design
As I tried to mention that I find it dfficult to follow "best practice" when designing Business Cards – since you probably don't want your business cards to look too similar to your competitors' business cards. So IMHO best practice would be not to follow rules for 'best practice'

comment Why do showers have “hot” and “cold” knobs rather than “temperature” and “quantity” knobs?
japan? That's really funny – my parents have 'exactly' the same, made by german company GROHE

comment Lowering opacity on hover. Isn't it totally wrong?
If that element with the 50% opacity if a default state, to me it also looks like a disabled button. But if that's the hover state, then IMHO it indicates that the button is clickable.

comment Lowering opacity on hover. Isn't it totally wrong?
I don't really know what your point is here? Maybe my live example is a bad one – but if that is so, that means 'highlighting' is NOT about making an element/ a link just brighter. So if we agree on your #3 then we both disagree on your #2 ? I basically just wanted to answer to the original question: "lowering the opacity is not wrong, if it makes the element stand out". And if lowering the opacity looks and feels like making an element brighter – then that's even better. What I like about the first image in DaveAlger's answer is that it shows that the context of the interaction matters:

comment UI for displaying a QR code on a broken screen
IMHO this sounds just a bit too 'tricky': have a screen display something important – but only when it's broken?! So expect it to be broken – but not 'too broken'?! I must admit I just don't get it… Maybe you have even some more details?

comment UI for displaying a QR code on a broken screen
Is your example with the broken screen was just a use case? Do you actually just want to know, how to split a QR code?

At least for me it is not really clear what you are asking. Please try to be a bit more specific.

comment Multiple scrollbars when there is a pop-up or modal window. What is the reason for implementing this design pattern?
no – and i must admit I only thought about hiding the 'inner' scollbar. So actually there is a technical issue with that – a.f.a.i.k. the 'outer' scrollbar will just stay visible anyways.

comment Does adding a click count next to a hyperlink enhance the user experience?
i see your point – but how does "following the herd" really "enhance the user experience" ?

comment Does adding a click count next to a hyperlink enhance the user experience?
I would understand "social proof" – but either the question is misleading, or the answer is: IMHO "facebook likes" are not the same as "click counts".

comment Does adding a click count next to a hyperlink enhance the user experience?
I like your 'real world' example at lot. While I also tend to ask the waiter ""hat can you recommend?" and often I get the answer "XY is quite popular" I would probably be still a bit irritated if I found a counter on the menu.

I use tagging only occasionally - but i guess that means 'yes' I do use both

A tricky one – my first suggestion would be 'un-cancel' if that makes any sence?
