comment Why should our website be made handicap accessible?
Ask your boss if he's ever walked up a wheelchair ramp. Implementing features for accessibility makes everyone's experience better, not just a small segment of the population.

comment Are breadcrumbs still in?
I know at least one large ecommerce platform that still uses a breadcrumb style approach. You might argue that they're search facets rather than breadcrumbs, however it's worth noting that you can't remove individual facets in this particular area of the UI.

comment When should a text input be auto selected?
Generally, selecting the text on click is used on readonly text fields meant for copying content. Consider the share field on this youtube video. It's obvious that the use case is to copy the text, so selecting all of it makes sense. It also happens that this behavior is trivial to add.

comment Will using “X” for both “close” and “remove” cause confusion
do you have any evidence that the x's are confusing? The comp shown uses proximity well that I can't imagine it would be an issue.

comment Is a star rating more user-friendly and valuable than a simple up/down vote model?
...and continuing what @RedSirius said, you shouldn't use an average rating for comparing items in a 5-star system.
