In your experience, which is more likely: a) You have a clear understanding of the domain problem, or b) You think you have a clear understanding of the domain problem...

comment Does my website still have to support Internet Explorer 8 and earlier?
@Howdy_MgGee: The exact proportion of IE8- users will depend on your application and your target audience. Shortsightedness like this would appear to be exactly why the OP is having a problem! +1 to "It strikes me that you probably should have researched..."

comment Is it good idea to send user password upon register?
@user1737909: Storing a password in plaintext is really bad. Storing it in plaintext on an unknown number of unknown email servers between you and the recipient is arguably much worse than storing it in plaintext on your own database server.

comment Is the term 'field' too technical when giving messages on a form?
For me it's not so much that the term "field" is too technical, but that there are much better alternatives easily available "Please enter your name", "Your name is required", etc.

Not sure I can screenshot a scroll interaction, but I'll see what I can do!

comment Mouse scroll wheel should target focus or hover?
If I may play devil's advocate for a moment, I'd suggest that e.g. users expect a reaction from a textbox containing the caret regardless of whether the mouse is over it.

I think I agree with you, but is there any study to back this up? I'd rather not go with opinion.

It's not consistent even within a platform, though. For example, Windows 7 Explorer does A but Office 2010 does B. Plenty of other examples as well.
