UX for filtering a table of data Appreciate the thoughts on change the Status filter position and like the examples. Will definitely be implementing something along the lines of these. |

Have the attitude changed the last ten years on horizontal scrolling on web sites? Smashing magazine just linked to this kaikkonendesign.fi/columns, maybe CSS3 columns will be a catalyst for horizontal scrolling on the web |

Conveying progress for a set of items each with 2 stages It's also worth saying I think partial review is ok (for a temporary amount of time) because the first task is to check against incomplete or incoherent additions, to amend this and get the child approved on the waiting list. The second task is for adding the child to websites and to automatically create print material to allow increased awareness and encourage sponsorship of the child. |

Conveying progress for a set of items each with 2 stages Equally I could make the two tasks separate review queues. (i.e have one option on the dashboard for approving listings, another for confirming bios) |

Showing facebook profile picture to show logged in user I think (not totally sure) that Windows 8 does this for your user account profile picture (i.e when you log in to the computer) if you have connected Windows to Facebook. Can anyone confirm? |

Conveying progress for a set of items each with 2 stages At current there will be one user who is in control of approving listings. Of course there is lots of room for expansion and the main reason for this system is to increase efficiency of operations at the organisation (currently just a lot of emails!). The main reasons for the bar are 1) to create a sense of accomplishment when approving listings through the system (i.e "I'm getting the job done") 2) to give the administrator a goal which they know they are working towards 3) to be generally informative |

Conveying progress for a set of items each with 2 stages I like the top method, however imagine a system where there were 15, 30, 100 pending items. How would you go about this then? |

Non-standard symbols indicates special function As the asterisk symbol seems to be universally accepted as denoting 'required'. I think this method would be better using the label tag for 'wildcard' and continue the use of asterisk for required fields. |

Web Based Portal Dashboard - the age old button vs link The six in the middle of the page. The top will just be a bar of navigation links. I will amend. |
