Are there any studies that show the quickest mental processing for capitalization of header menu items for a website. Why is this not the proper forum? I'd love to read your more in-depth answer. |

List icon vs menu icon @RomanNurik and DA01 : Ah! Okay. I had no mental blueprint for an action overflow. It's not something I have consciously come across before. The distinction between that and menu makes sense now though. |

How could one prevent drunk users from using a mobile application? You could ask that they pass a Jamestown level on divine: finalformgames.com/jamestown |

Reputation Scoring Signals @Shash Agreed. Also, there are very few people that you can honestly endorse for most things. Besides people you have worked with closely, it's hard to gauge anyone else's skill at a language/framework/os. |

Reputation Scoring Signals I find those skills recommendations on LinkedIn useless. They suffer from the same problem that the OP mentions. The number is heavily dependent on how active you and your friends are on LinkedIn. |

Navigating between map and list representations of data Quick question related to this. What do you mean by "t's initially confusing and doesn't provide any information about what the actual active state is at that moment"? Wouldn't it be obvious what state you were in by whether you were looking at a map or at a list? I don't dismiss your argument, I just mean to understand it better. |

Navigating between map and list representations of data You bring up two good points. The first is, no, I had not thought of a collapsible search view but that sounds like it could be a great idea and something worth trying. The second about the split action bar. Unfortunately I already have a second action bar on the bottom for a different set of options. On tablets it's great because they merge into one and it looks good. But on phones there's not enough space. I think I may try the expanding search bar to see how it looks. |
