comment Should a faceted navigation have an “ALL” filter?
Yes, all selects every option (apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries), but clicking on an individual filter unchecks all but the one selected (oranges)

comment Designing data tables without data
Basically. There is a basic misunderstanding of the process. The client has given me a spec with datapoints that haven't been confirmed with the API, meaning that they are assuming that the data is present, when it may not be. (The API data is provided by a third party.)

comment Should you separate Pictures and Video or is it better to have a multimedia section?
First of all, thank you for editing my question Erics. Secondly thanks to everyone trying to answer it. We are creating a new white label website that is purchased by publishers and will ultimately serve soccer fans. The end customer varies in all possible demographic aspects so the design should be extremely intuitive. I was trying to streamline the main navigation and give soccer fans (who are very visual) one tab where they would find all things visual. It makes sense though that the term multimedia is not clear. Maybe it should be one tab that says "Pictures & Video"?

Thanks everyone. Yes, the search itself works like a full fledged application. I love the save and save as note. Thanks rk.

Sure The buttons are used for a editing a save search. Saving the changes is the primary function of the page. In order to simplify workflow, we wanted to also offer to save the changes to the saved search as a completely separate search. Since both start with the word "save" I wanted to make the distinction really obvious. The same thinking went behind cancel and delete. I want to make them distinct enough so that it is really clear which button does what. I should probably just spend a bit more time with this, but I wanted to see if anyone could point me to a best practices doc.
