What have you tried? What determines the "importance" of a value in your use-case?

comment How do I make a list NOT look scrollable?
I'd still perceive that as scrollable… Only the bottom half of that top message is visible, so my first thought would be "How can I see the rest of it?".

revised Where to locate a chatbox in a 2D or 3D interface?
Split into paragraphs by topic. Not just Guild Wars but certainly almost every graphical MMORPG does the text-over-your-head thing.

comment What are standard advert sizes for email newsletters?
Are you asking how to scale or crop an image? There's no magic solution to getting 728 pixels into the space of 600-650. If usual newsletters are less wide than usual banners, I think we can logically conclude that newsletter ads are usually not usual banners.

comment Why is the input field always at the bottom of a chat window?
In the Japanese animation series Durarara!! a chatroom is a major plot element and interestingly it has the input field at the top. This isn't the norm in real Japanese online chatrooms, but a fan site nevertheless provides a popular counterexample.

comment Do we “exit”, “quit” or “close” an application?
INSUFFICIENT UNIX IN THE HOUSE. For UNIX processes at a command-line level, the standard term is kill. "Killing" is just as ambiguous as "closing" though -- you can kill a process with one of a set of signals, only some of which make it terminate. However, the command kill -9 is famous for being totally unambiguous: It sends the SIGKILL signal, which immediately cuts off resource access at init level, giving the target process no chance to react.
