I also misread the question. It's just a notification, and you can put any text in there, such as "Are you sure your name is Jooohn?" etc

yeah use something like ketchup.js to add a little bloop red thing to let people know things are not okay.

Clearly the benchmark is drunk testing. Bring a laptop to bars and begin the magic

comment Is it OK to link to product pages from a price change alert in the shopping cart?
Personally I'd only modify the price of the item in the cart if the price reduced, otherwise they get the price from when they put in the cart. The only problem a customer has is when it's a surprise mark-up, not a surprise mark-down.

comment Fast / numereous animations. Possible Epilepsy / Seizures from website game?
If the dev REALLY wants a set of moving lines I'd suggest subtler contrast and broader bars.

comment Why must a user enter cents at an ATM when it only dispenses whole dollars?
This isn't quite an answer but I believe it has to do with the fact that if you enter the decimal places that there is no ambiguity about typing $200 when you meant $2. Basically erring on the side of caution. It seems overcautious though if there is an ATM limit of a few hundred dollars.

comment Which map background color is best (from the perspective of ergonomics at the workplace)?
When one downvotes it's common courtesy to put a reason why.

comment How to represent that a video has no audio?
A video without sound reminds me of a gif. What if you immediately played the file and put it on loop like a gif.

Hmm okay I could see that, but it feels misleading because one of his main points were eyestrain. Don't get me wrong I like your answer, it's one of the few that actually has research.

I'm actually very curious about the real studies that have been done on the subject. I have long held an anecdotal opinion on the subject but I'd like to have tangible proof that one is better.

Perception of the map and eyestrain are two different things. Since he is asking about how "Easy it is on the eyes" and not "How this affects perception of map markers" I'd say this is an interesting point, but not quite an answer to his question.

I think Jens was more hoping for research rather than an anecdotal blurb.
