comment Best way to display a nav item with a single sub-page?
Why don't you just have a clear link in the parent page to the the form, instead of forcing the form into navigation? Does it have to be quickly accessible? Maybe you should reconsider your structure, and not have the form be a sub page?

comment Do you need to design for responsive?
This is a good answer, and I would recommend that your colleagues have a look at Mobile First abookapart.com/products/mobile-first, already a couple of years out of date!

comment UX Designer, UX Analyst or UX Architect?… does it matter?
You should read Design Is A Job by Mike Monteiro. Embrace that you're a designer, and let's stop having this discussion, it's only harming our field.

ideally: overhaul our ridiculous and out dated legal system.

comment When to end usability test task
+1 It takes a lot of skill to guide people without explicitly telling them what to do, but you want as much information about what went wrong as possible.

comment For first-launch of a new site that has few users, should I initially leave out some features so it launches as a MVP (minimum viable product)?
37 Signals writes a lot about MVP and releasing something the second you have something to show for it. Their books Rework and Getting Real (especially Getting Real) are pretty much about this thing exactly.

comment Would adding horizontal scrolling to Facebook profiles be a good idea?
Are you asking whether horizontal scrolling in general is a good idea, or whether horizontal scrolling is a bad idea in the context of Facebook?

comment What to display while waiting for a process (4-5 seconds) to complete?
@icc97 The point of my answer was more one of "hey, don't ask this on here, look at how it's documented on pattern libraries."

comment Should shortcut keys be prefaced by shift/alt/ctrl?
I dunno, a lot of standard web and normal interfaces use character keys when just browsing. For example, VI - a standard word processing environment used by lots of programmers - used a series of keys for shortcuts (hjkl - up down right left etc). These are so popular that large web applications (gmail) have simplified versions of these commands in the application.

I've always had issues with this while developing sites and just trying to name these menus in my code. Thanks for asking!

comment Combine categories and tags in a blog-like website
Categories and tags in Wordpress work pretty much how you describe them. Here's a blog post by Wordpress about them: en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories-vs-tags
