What do you say to a complete web design newbie to not crush his spirit? Enjoy - people behind it are still adding new information. This morning I have received a new email: "Week 14: The Medium and Mechanics of Iconography" |

Is there any good idiom for 'real time' or 'live' data? Did you read the answer? The floppy disk is not a metaphor but an idiom. Try something with arrows, data going in and out. |

How can I split up a really long application form on a mobile website? accordion is not going to work. when the user will try to go to the 2nd form the 1st will collapse and the user will have to scroll all the way up, or there will be some auto animation that would bring them up... to much moving up and down. I would suggest to keep it opened. then the user can decide if they want to do it over the phone or leave it for later. |

Best way to separate navigation and search bar Also dropping "About" from main menu and leaving it in the footer only would give you more space, same with "Help". Also why do you have "Account" at the top right if a person is not logged in? |

Multilevel navigation menus for mobile devices I think the main problem is the website structure/navigation depth. Not sure if you can change the navigation, but hope this article will help you in the future smashingmagazine.com/2013/03/27/navigation-mega-sites |

Which is better option 'School', 'College' or any other? @JonW I believe label like "Education" or "Educational insitution" would work. Thank you for pointing that out! |

Signing up for a site. Finishing progress after step 1 of 4. What/How to indicate? @DKOATED why username/name is not shown? Relying only on images is not the best way to do this, there will be accessibility issues. Are you planning not to include any alt="" tags in the images? |

Mobile website text link @NeilNand bigger text and line height easyer to tap... take a look at an app like getpocket.com It allows you to save web articles and sync them to your iPhone or iPad. They are using large type and line height. Really easy to read and navigate. |

Should personal data be asked at the beginning or end of an online survey @MikeMurko this link show's that it is important to build the trust with the user. And when something unexpected happens, the users’ trust will begin to erode. |

They don't have links so use Google to get to the study... Also you need to pay for most of these studies. found this: www1.unl.edu/search/?q=download.pdf |

Should personal data be asked at the beginning or end of an online survey I believe that the experience is going to be disappoint to the users. Be honest, speak to your user as if it's your friend, not a source of information and money. |
