The average width of an adult thumb is 1 inch (2.5 cm), which converts to 72 pixels.

Why do you ask users to type out the domain?

comment Multiple forms of the same type in one single screen
Is there a reason why users might want to work on separate items at the same time? As I understand you can only work on 1 but select[checkbox] multiple. what is the benefit of doing that?

comment Changing password in user settings. Best method
Usually the user should enter old password before entering new one, otherwise someone could change it if the user forgets to log out. Otherwise 2nd option is better, IMO less actions required.

comment Android app navigation best practices
It will for a typical easier for user to understand what to do if there is a call to action, but I think the little circle navigation will be enough for user to understand.

Both are effective, it depends on your user demographics and your app, explain what is this app used for and who are the target audience.

comment Should we use 'Title Case' or 'Sentence case' for headlines and buttons?
@Racheet not quite sure if I agree that buttons and titles are supplementary information. I read title before I look at the content, to know if the information in the content is relevant.

@pdxd I don't think so, but ALL CAPS will make it even harder to read

+1 great answer, by some kind of animation you mean anything but enlarge on hover :)

comment What's the best way to present variables in a WYSIWYG editor?
How well are the users versed in programming languages? I know some PHP so if dynamic variable would have something like this $FNAME making your tag look like this = |$FNAME| would make me aware that it will change.

comment Left to Right Navigation
The best way is probably to create primary action button and secondary button, primary: big button, secondary a link: lukew.com/ff/entry.asp?571

comment Defaulting to the sign-up form?
From observations that I made, mostly my friends and co-workers, using facebook/twitter/tumblr/linked in and so on... never clean their cookies so the websites are logged in. The user doesn't need to click "remember me" for this to work. To be honest I don't have world-wide stats on this so you might be right.

comment Website “splash screen” instead of homepage or with it
I can see where you are coming from but in this case the modal wouldn't be used as a new content display. I'm suggesting the 1st content[section or div] of the HTML page stylised as modal(overlay) as if it's laying over the homepage. This way the tabbing wouldn't be an issue as well. hope that makes sense...
