@PhillipW I had one nearby so I took a picture: i.imgur.com/LAQzR.jpg They're actually remarkably thin, and these are stickers.

The idea of these methods isn't necessarily to produce a two way relationship, but rather to instantiate a (possible) two-way relationship, where one entity can quickly interface with another. Right now, QR Codes are being absolutely abused as shortcuts to a URL. They're kinda useless that way - they should be a way to interact with whatever you're scanning, and act as the intermediary between two endpoints.

@Rahul my apologies - due to policy I can't provide pictures of my site, so I'll try to find something similar. The answers so far have been very helpful, though.

@Nick Bedford What I'm looking at right now is a landing page with a small, informative bulleted list and three columns of text links to even more informative text. Is that enough to go off of?

Rahul, do you have any more GUI design references? A lot of people just point to the Apple style suggestions, but something more intricate would be nice. Especially if it is a book.

I love flexible inputs like this - give the user a lot of different ways to input the data. I find that it reduces input errors as well.

Good insight - I like the idea of an alternative (as both a designer and a user)

@Charles Boyung I got so confused/frustrated by this scenario that I actually wrote the question wrong. I agree that << Newer/Older >> is the most logical to me.
