From my users, automatic redirect in a eCommerce site by using a stylecode (similar to your Apache scenario) is completely acceptable - but, with content, many felt like they weren't in control, even with hinting and a ton of ways to perform an actual search. It was interesting. I'm re-evaluating and will post an answer.

Feb 22	comment	Recomendation for choosing a start date / month I agree, and the UI datepicker might not even be the optimal tool here. It isn't made for this spec (at all). The demo on SO is pretty straightforward, though, and a much better application for this requirement.

Nov 28	comment	How do you convert computer users to mobile users? Those QR Code statistics were published a year ago, which is a light year for this particular technology. I don't think awareness is a severe problem now - the problem is people misusing them.
