What's the point in asking the user to do what an application can do itself? I have some formal cryptographic education (university and such) and I can say without a doubt that what he says there is complete BS. Not a small inaccuracy, but utter and completely wrong. |

What's the point in asking the user to do what an application can do itself? It's ok, I have no problems with the speculations, it's just that the answer in WebApps is wrong technically (without regard to MS). The cryptographic reasoning used in that answer is simply incorrect. MD5 hashes do not behave as claimed. If you can, please remove it altogether from WebApps. |

What's the point in asking the user to do what an application can do itself? The answer in WebApps regarding the 16 characters doesn't make too much sense, so there is no sense in quoting it.. See the comment below it. Not only that shortening the password has nothing to do with the likelihood of hashes to collide, there is also no point in checking for password collisions since users can have identical passwords. Also, keep it mind that your answer doesn't really explain why MS doesn't shorten the password automatically.. |

Best way to show many user actions for table rows? hmm.. it wasn't clear from your question that this is a web app. The UI seems native from the screenshots - the grid control with expandable rows. Regarding the right click, since I assumed native, you wrote "user clicks on the background", so I assumed right click. Might be a good idea to clarify the question |

How to make enterprise information systems more engaging? Lifetime of agony only if executed badly. A good example: Wheatley from the game Portal 2 is one funny sidekick. Doesn't really do anything productive, but the experience would have been quite boring without him. youtube.com/watch?v=UBBUiuOBYXg |

Should a “windows-desktop style” interface be recreated in a browser app? It seems to me that they really want a desktop app. The reason they rely on web technology is probably due to existing code / wanting it to run without installation and other irrelevant technical issues. If they want a desktop app, why not make a desktop app? Have them use .NET and get a native app that they don't really need to install.. it sounds like an enterprise app so the issue of home users not running because it's native is pretty irrelevant |
