Sam Hasler: I have asked my users, and focused on particular areas (and content) based upon the feedback gathered. Presentations will also be held. What I'm asking is whether there are any additional general guidelines to consider when setting up a wiki to make it more user-friendly.

Sam Hasler: My response was mostly targeted towards the last question of TJH. I have considered using Wikimedia but I just wanted to know whether there were any other precautions one could take when setting up a wiki (any wiki, really) to make it more user-friendly and to structure content in a more helpful way.

Thanks for the comments. For this I can't use wikipedia itself, it's for an internal wiki (not visible for all). Yeah, I was a bit unsure whether the question was too broad or not. It is pretty much the whole thing (as in general guidelines for how to make a wiki portal as user-friendly as possible) I want guidance with. What would you recommend me doing? Split up the post into several questions, or something else?
