On Mobile Web, what's the best way to present Date of Birth form fields? As an American user, when I see a prompt for DD/MM/YYYY I have a mental hiccup and have to stop and think. It's an extra (minor) cognitive load. |

On Mobile Web, what's the best way to present Date of Birth form fields? This would also need to support both mm/dd/yyyy and dd/mm/yyyy based on user preference. yyyy-mm-dd may be a better, neutral format. |

Is there a better character than the asterisk to indicate a modified document? Wow. I just learned why that strange dot character shows up next to the file name when I use Sublime Text 2. |

Handling the branching/switching between incomplete tasks If you're asking about code, StackOverflow may be a better place for your question. |

Display big numbers in a small area Tooltip won't work for a touch-based interface. |

What steps should I follow designing a web site? In addition to all the answers below, an important first step is to consider who your target audience is. What is the demographic, how literate are they, how much time do they have to spend, how likely are they to spend money/scroll/read lots of text/do xyz, etc. |

How to best deal with many thumbnails in a product image gallery I really dislike this setup because it makes it very hard to compare something on page 1 with something on page X, especially if X is a page that is not immediately visible and requires multiple paging to find. Not only do I have to do more clicking, but I also have to remember the pages where each of those items is located. |

How can I highlight errors when bright red is the main color of the brand? +1 for mentioning color blindness. Generally speaking, color should be a secondary indicator used in conjunction with other indicators such as symbols, icons, or special fonts. |

Choices for users who don't read Are the potential users you're concerned about in #3 low literacy or completely illiterate? |

How should you show that an accordion is expanded? The difficulty in using color as a differentiator is supporting the various types of color blindness. While two colors might be obviously different to 90% of the population, they might appear identical to the color blind. Color as a secondary indicator, rather than primary, may be the simplest solution, as you suggested near the end. |

Should radio buttons be pre-selected? Shouldn't the question read "Do you want us to send you a free gift card?" Right now it reads as though you're asking me (the user) to send you the card.... |

Do people find someone in a list faster by name or a profile picture of the person? +1 for mentioning face blindness, which I unfortunately suffer from (2.5%, represent!) That being said, face-only is probably inappropriate for all blindness, and I can't imagine it'll play well with a screen reader. |

Best practices for menus/navigation in an online textbook? As an alternative to 100% width, maybe something like the Adobe screenshot you've included. That is, constrain the content width to some fixed value, but dock the resizable navigation outside of that. |

Side panel navigation default on or off If by 'trendy' you mean 'irritating beyond belief', ok I'll agree with that. ;) |

Side panel navigation default on or off Is it 'popular' because developers keep building it, or 'popular' because users like it? |

Selecting many elements from a long list @SamPierceLolla - Unfortunately the application isn't HTML; I just do my mocks in HTML+JS. But yes, the entire label + checkbox construct should be 'clickable'. |
