Is “Tweet to Unlock a Free Download” a dark pattern? What is dark about it? If you tell the user "You can download this in exchange for a tweet" and that is exactly what's going to happen, it's just a valid choice for the user. It might scare away some users because they don't want to tweet about your product, but I really can't see the darkness of this. |
