What is the best practice for data table cell content alignment Why is it you're considering right alignment at all? Surely the western standard of left-to-right means content should be left aligned? (assuming it's a LTR userbase) |

Amber outlined required field I'll certainly try that - after all the UX only matters relative to the users themselves! |

How to better name modal buttons “Cancel Request” (submit), “Cancel” (cancel)? Thanks Chris :) |

Amber outlined required field Hi Matthijs, I plan on keeping the asterisk as a backup just in case - but from a distance I'm hoping the orange will make it a little more obvious! Thanks for your answer, and thank you for the points raised regarding Q3 |

Amber outlined required field Good point, the colour blind testing on this will be done by the users as it's an internal system used by a small group of users. I'll look in to the contrast etc, but I was definitely planning on an asterisk as well |

Is adding “Flag as inappropriate” button necessary for site with expiring content? Yeah I understood that :) |

Why do mobile users give up on the mobile site and switch back to the full site instead? IMO a mobile site should always make the content more likely to be required on-the-go easier to get to. If we all did this people wouldn't want to disable mobile sites at all! |

Is adding “Flag as inappropriate” button necessary for site with expiring content? Absolutely, but as I said I can't comment on legalities. I just know that it isn't uncommon for people to mis-use the flag feature |

iOS auto-correct There does seem to be some inconsistency |

iOS auto-correct Oh dear, it looks like you're right, however this is a new thing for sure as I've had several UX discussions about this in the past. Its particularly bad on the ipad when on eBay because the X hovers eBay's own suggestion and precision is vital |

iOS auto-correct Are you sure about that? Could be different iOS versions or something but pressing on the text of the word in the tooltip, on my devices, replaces the word being types with the estimated word |

When appending items to a list, should the input fields be above or below the list? I see. It's a tricky one. Without knowing the UI I don't know if this will work but could the add new item append to the bottom of the list rather than bottom of the frame? That way you don't have the "Gap of disassociation" mentioned in the post. One reservation is times where the list extends beyond the fold by default - the user won't see the addition form and might not know it exists. |

When appending items to a list, should the input fields be above or below the list? Is there a reason the parent (scrollable div in your mock) has to be a set height? Is it part of the design? |

Best solution to inform and enable users to save changes on a page Agreed, option 5 seems fine - covers all the bases and doesn't have the "You've done something wrong" feeling of an alert box |

Scrolling without scrollbars Thanks for the answer - agreed that the last item being partially hidden is wise. I think the concept is more familiar to smartphone/tablet users and they don't display scrollbars (Lion also). I think I may have done all I can except the arrow suggestion below. I hope this question can help others with the same problem! (which is all of us if Lion is the first of many!) |

Scrolling without scrollbars Thanks for the detailed answer. I've actually already applied the gradient to suggest "This isn't the end" - The arrows are also a great idea I think I'll give that a try and show some of the users to get some feedback. Thanks again! |

Scrolling without scrollbars Hi, thanks for commenting, Horizontal space is a bit strange on this one (I'd screenshot if I could but the content is confidential) as it's a list covering the entire width of the sidebar. The sidebar cannot grow any further as the space to the right is required for a map layer, so the only place to go is down unfortunately. I looked in to pagination but the users may want more control over which 10 records they see at once (10 being the number of records which fit vertically) |
