Should dropdown menus be indicated by arrows? Providing at least a visual indicator which shows the dropdown functionalitity would be prefered usability wise. I do not see how adding arrows to a design would make clutter. Unless you have a poorly designed website offcourse. |

Why don't most elevator panels let you unselect? Sorry, I misread your answer. But in the picture shown, I see a keyhole. I do not expect this keyhole to be asking for my carkeys ;-) Maybe we should have an 'elevator man' in every elevator again? |

Why don't most elevator panels let you unselect? Seems like a troll, why would I press the alarm button if all I want to do is unselect my selection? I don't press the escape key when I want to unselect my text selection? |

How can I choose a relative colour scheme for prices? Somebody commented here and I commented back. That person seems to have removed theirs... It stated wether I had visited price comparison websites for ... comparison :) |

How can I choose a relative colour scheme for prices? Had not yet seen that website. Have seen some others though. At pricerunner they don't seem to differentiate color or icon wise, only position wise. Which is an interesting point of view... |

Pattern to display Many to Many Relationships in two grids What would be the primary point of entry? Would the users always search for the clause corresponding with a document? Or could they search the other way around. Not that you should provide all the options to the user. But a single point of entry makes things and decisions a lot easier... |

Alternatives to selecting valid value from a list of items Im having a hard time understanding what you are trying to archieve. Could you elaborate by giving a bit more context? |

Adding USA at the top of dropdown list of countries. OK practice or not? This is denitetely the best of options. It prevents irritation with 98% of the users. +1 |

How to display date and time Why is the purpose of the site not important. The purpose is the ultimate argument in narrowing your options down to a single format. - What type of items will they leave on the site? - What is the typical 'waiting time'? |

Amber outlined required field Why not create a quick user test. Setting 1: a form with asterisks Setting 2: a form with amber highlighting. Have them fill out a complicated form and check whether the first or last setting makes users fill out the form in one "go".. |
