Why are icons on mobile phone menu screens square or rectangular but not circular? @JohnGB, That icons should neither be round nor square for Best UX, that it is a significant UX improvement, that it improves scan-ability and are thus easier to use. New image is nicer, but still looks wrong to me ;) If they are well established, I would appreciate some links to follow up. |

Why did Microsoft make Windows 8 hard to Power Off? When the whole computer (tablet, phone) is in your hands it makes sense to have a physical power button. When your computer is tucked away under a desk, and you're already in the middle of using input devices (mouse, keyboard) it makes sense to have an easy and obvious software power button. |

How do you know if something was designed mobile first? Excellent answer. But I would replace 'web first design' with 'large screen design' or 'pc design' or something more appropriate as mobile web is still the web :) |

Best visual representation for monthly values Could you clarify what kind of binary data you mean, as any given month could feasibly have more than two 'best time' for X activity. Is the bottom visualisation not already binary? in that it only shows two states per section of the month. |
