comment What is the best way to responsively display large amounts of tabular data?
Well, I can imagine only two solutions with variants: rearrange the whole table without hidding elements or hide elements. Maybe there are more options.

Maybe you should change the position of columns headers, from horizonta to vertical, like on this example from Brad Frost pattern gallery: css-tricks.com/examples/ResponsiveTables/responsive.php You won't hide any columns or force user to scroll.

comment Buttons in the “tab area” of a page control
I suppose that some users might wonder if buttons are related to the actually open tab or maybe they're independent from of the tabs. In other words if buttons are associated with the content displaying in the open tab, or maybe there is no connection between open tab and button action. I might be wrong, but this is my first thought.

Screen shots are from polish apps: allegro and ceneo, the first one doesn't use this solution any more.

comment Displaying filters in the multiple query search engine
Generally I agree, but concept of a search engine, where user could submit parameters as queries might be difficult to comprehend for some users. This conversation was very helpful cause I don't want any more filters to be modified by search queries. Changes I'm going to make: search box queries don't modify drop downs; users won't be able to type date into search box - to many formats to retrieve. I want to make some fast paper prototyping user tests today.

comment Displaying filters in the multiple query search engine
great, thanks ;) It's a nice step to reduce elements on this interface, but point of confusion you were pointing out is still a problem. Deleting or changing query in search box would update drop down, but changing the date via drop down won't update search box (unless user deletes date completely it will cause deleting the date from the search box). Plus in search box user could type another filters, which are not represented in drop downs, how to show to him that these filters are applied?

check this mock up please: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/72296770/… I agree with you, but still ;) looking for the solution of this problem. Multiple query search box is a business need can't change this requirement. But I'm also afraid of deleting drop downs which provide clues what users could search and are also a last stand solution for bad format typers (search box won't be able to perform search on all price range formats users will type in).

Thanks for answer. It's hard to design perfect solution when filters are overlapping search queries - date and price. Answering your questions. Deleting 13th March from the filter cause deleting 13th March query from the search box. Setting 20th April cause adding 20th April filter to "applied filters" bar and deleting previous date from search box.

comment Display a list of current tasks, future and past
Well, I would like to get to know more about context of using this app. First if somebody miss the task, will it be fatal for the whole process, e.g. missing check-in, would stop the flight, missing buying in duty free shop would be only missed opportunity to buy gifts.

comment Does user need to activate account via e-mail in registration process?
Yes I agree, but there is a problem, when user has in shopping cart physical and digital products. I could make two separate ways to buy e.g. tabs for digital and physical products in shopping cart but during user tests I've seen that users have no idea what these two tabs are.

comment Does user need to activate account via e-mail in registration process?
I've been designing e-commerce website, people could buy physical products e.g. tv set or e-books, mp3 files. My client wants to force all users how buy e-books, mp3 to register. He's afraid that users who don't register and buy digital stuff after some time would lost the links for downloaded digital files, erase previous downloaded files, and then company will have a problem with users who demand their items but there is no one place for store them all - their account.

Well, the first thing comes to my mind is to show "edit icon" like pencil icon on hover. Maybe there is no need to expose another tab for editing?

comment How the page should behave after applying filters?
Another nice argument for scrolling page up is that if user applied a lot filters and list of them is long and there are only e.g. 5 results he won't see results cause they'll appear at the top of the page while filters are at the bottom.

comment How the page should behave after applying filters?
Thanks for reply, but I'm still little bit worried how more advanced users who would like to apply more filters at once will perceive this top auto scrolling solution. They could be annoyed I guess, auto scrolling is perfect for users who choose one or two filters and this is sufficient form them.

comment How to design a shopping cart for digital and non digital products
Thanks for reply, but my main argument for two tabs is that I want to give a user chance to download faster his digital products. If there aren't any tabs and user adds some digital and non digital products to the cart he has to provide delivery address for physical products goes to the payment, pays for whole cart (digital +physical) and after that he could download digital products. If there are two tabs he could download digital products faster - no need to provide delivery address, but unfortunately he has to go through buying process two times.
