The 'signal element' will not be the same and that is part of the point. Sometimes it might be data that summarises a category and can be used to navigate, other times it will be a chart, other times it might be a list of tickets or clients.

@Lode I'd have to agree. This is what I was referring to when I said it was easy to find simple controls, website or mobile app inspiration. However truly complex applications and interface techniques is a lot harder.
